The Grateful Dead started out as a jugband called the Warlocks. Milk jugs? Probably not. The mouths on milk jugs are too wide to produce that special sound effect. Matters little to Saturniids. The Boston-based band name checks a lot of influences from the 90s and 00s. Chugging alt guitar progressions aside, we think their sound hails from even earlier sources. The guitar solo on “Milkjug” is 70s pop music fodder. And the horn section cameo at the finish is pure 60s variety show outro perfection. Span the decades with the Saturniids.
