Palehound: “Fadin’”
Dusky folk at the First Congregational Church. Solo acoustic vibrations from Palehound, who strums up a storm on our highlighted and hangin’ apostrophe track “Fadin’”. Historically, churches have great acoustics. But the typical design of a Congregational church is usually heavy on the wood planks painted the color of a white picket fence. In other words, it’s not cathedral architecture with the hard stone and high vaulted ceilings that make for a powerfully resonating sound. Still, a church is a church, a big communal space, and you can hear the warmth of this performance in the live recording. The folk artist was opening for Adrianne Lenker, by the way. The full-length live album Live at First Congregational Church is available via Polyvinyl Records.
