Nicholas Burgess: “Wintogreen”
New Year’s Eve is always a real mixed bag when it comes to live performances. Sure, occasionally you’ll get an A+ artist making a big thing out the calendar shimmy. In fact, here’s a list. Clicking, reading, reading, reading, hmmmm….
Not sure I’d pick these concerts out, but Gene Simmons lighting his hair on fire on New Year’s Eve in 1973 sounds pretty awesome.
Mostly what you get in your local area for NYE shows is a bunch of DJs hamming it up for drunk folks who can’t be bothered. And you’ll pay a hefty cover charge for the privilege.
Unless Gene Simmons is rolling through town with kerosene and a book of matches, you're better off throwing a party with friends and being your own DJ. Here’s a track from our favorite holiday music specialist Nicholas Burgess. It’s called “Wintogreen” and it comes with an instrumental cut in case you want to rock the vocals somewhere around midnight.
Don’t drink and drive.
