Baltimore’s Matmos has been keeping electronic music fresh since the late 90s. Our highlighted track “Flight to Sodom / Lot do Salo” comes off Regards/Ukłony dla Bogusław Schaeffer. The album has a rich backstory. Financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture, each song deconstructs music by Polish polymath Bogusław Schaeffer. It’s hard to pinpoint on which planet in the multiverse that Matmos deposits the listener, but it’s a geography with equal parts comedy and tragedy. Maybe planet Earth.
