Kate Gentile: “drode”
Maximalist jazz from Kate Gentile and the International Contemporary Ensemble. But you knew that by looking at the album cover. Looks like acid took acid. All to the purpose of highlighting how far out modern jazz can be. How far out is that? At least as far as Saturn. And remember that in space we’re all floating, with no up or down…
Our highlighted track takes a similar spin, yawing through space like a spacewalking cosmonaut who just snapped free from their safety harness. Doomed to a dark and icy death in the black desert of deep space. Either that or they burn up in the atmosphere like those space chimps.
…Or were they space dogs?
