Heard this guitarist on a Rosali album. Then I saw James Schroeder play live at The Rockwell on the Rosali tour. It’s a strong ensemble of musicians in support of the dusky chanteuse, but the guitar stood out. Especially on the hellacious track “Hills On Fire,” with devastating six-string breaks throughout. Got to dig deeper on this musician. Here’s a solo album that Schroeder put out in 2020. Our highlighted track “NOLA” handles country textures with a jazzy, neo-noir sensibility. Cinematic. Off Mesa Buoy.
