Impossible Dog: “The Wheel”

Music fans are divided on samples at the start of songs. Some love it, some hate it. The artists, for sure, like it when they use it. But didn’t 90s rappers love the “dramatic skits” that they wedged between the tracks of otherwise great albums? The skits were filled with humor of the moment, and rarely age well. Samples suffer the same fate to a lesser degree. So let’s check back in with Impossible Dog in a decade, do a re-listen, and ask around: would our highlighted track “The Wheel” sound better without the lead sample? In fact, let’s meet up at a special place. Beneath the old oak tree at the north end of the quarry when a full moon rises on a humid August night. Bring your switchblades, wiccan accouterments, a lighter, and we’ll figure this shit out. Off the EP Specifics.
