Not a solo strummer. But that’s what our highlighted track “How Can I” flashes at the start. Like maybe Dead Gowns gave us a quiet, folky album for falling asleep. Dreamy sure, but the sleeper must awaken. And she wakes up around the 2:00 mark when the full band comes in.

It’s fantastic when they do because the musician behind the moniker, Genevieve Beaudoin, surrounds herself with some beautiful players to complement her six-string and gripping wyrd folk vocals.

If you’ve had her debut EP How firmly planted in your car stereo for two years or so, like I have, you’re going to love the Dead Gowns’ debut LP, the extremely long-titled It's Summer, I Love You, and I'm Surrounded by Snow. There are only two songs streaming so far on Bandcamp, so you’ll have to take that on faith.
