Cinchel: “Dance Butterfly Rosebush”

Noise, experiments, experimental noise. “Experimental” is like a “Get Out Of Jail Free”-card for music makers and writers alike. It means whatever you like. And since artists get irritated by being pigeon-holed into certain genres, and music writers get tired of irritating artists, the “experimental” tag is a nice little vacation for everyone.

But I’ve got to fill in a few more blanks to fulfill my Tracks duty with our highlighted track “Dance Butterfly Rosebush.” It’s an ambient, electro, percussion-free bubblebath that dances like no one is watching in the higher registers.

The title suggests that Cinchel is up to a kind of impressionized, expressionized interpretation of the titular winged insect alighting on a rosebush. The synth strains are delicate enough to say as much. Handle with care. Off full-length, four-song album long dreams of hope.
