Carinae: “Movement I”
Oh fuck yes, a 12-minute wandering psych banger. It’s our highlighted track “Movement I,” off Cumulus Ruminations Vol. 2. Put Carinae on a bill with Evolfo, Garcia Peoples, and Gift, and watch the crowd melt in front of your eyes. Not all at once though – you gotta juice out that impact over the long haul. What does the Hadley-based band do with all that sonic real estate? Zoned out choppy guitar riffs dance above a locked-in rhythm section. The percussive accompaniment is always skating just beneath a boiling temperature. Is this an all instrumental kind of band, or do they singalong sometimes? You’ll have to do your research by checking out the rest of Vol. II and backtracking to Vol. I, which can be located on Yootoob with some analog feedback visuals. Someone alert Digital Awareness.
