A 7” from Big Thief. Why not? People will buy it, this band’s on a roll, and the lead track “Vampire Empire” is pretty good. Kind of a silly title. But it’s the sort of thing that’s fun to say, and you can tell Adrianne Lenker is enjoying the vocal duties on this track. A lot of rock n roll singer trills and flourishes, shades of Gordon Gano meets Janis Joplin. Not half bad.
