Indie folk with some twee flavors. It’s Alex Fam! And are we talking about mushrooms here? ‘Lion’s Mane’ is a type of mushroom. Not super rare, but you have to work a little harder to find it than looking in your local supermarket. The mushroom in question is bushy, plushy, with a typically white shade, as opposed to brown or gray. Wait, no, this song isn’t about mushrooms at all. The metaphor seems to target ‘lion’s mane’ in the sense of the furry (hairy?) facial adornment of the King of the Forest.
