Skylar Gudasz: “No Body”
Mellotron! There’s a long list of credits on Skylar Gudasz’s full-length Country. Loads of traditional instruments: guitars, bass, pedal steel, keys, what have you. But what really jumps out to my eyes? The mellotron, which both Gudasz and fellow musician Ari Picker handle on various tracks. Which ones? Not sure, not listed. You’ll have to listen closely for the odd electro-mechanical instrument. As far as I can tell, there’s no mellotron on the quiet and soulful closer to the album, and our highlighted track, “No Body.” But my telling often doesn’t tell very far. Via Perseids Records.
