Seaweed

Boston’s SEED takes it slow on “Seaweed”

The track chugs along like an ancient death dirge sung from forgotten depths.

Boston’s SEED takes it slow on our featured track “Seaweed.” The cymbals and guitar chug along like an ancient death dirge sung from the forgotten depths of a medieval serf’s psyche. The track is off their 2021 full-length Dun Pageant, a dark, doomy collection of musical incantations that release their magic in long, slow mantras. The experimental quality to the songwriting means that the album cuts along different genre expectations and interesting affinities with other artists emerge. At times the vocals attack like Anal Cunt, though the weird-folk harmonies of Quilt or MMOSS also come to mind. The usual pace of delivery is s-l-o-o-o-w to an exquisite degree, setting the mood like a I Could Live In Hope-era Low.
