Roadrunner
Boston’s Rebuilder have been delivering pop punk to the Bay State for at least a decade. When the pandemic hit, they responded the only way a pop punk knows how: make more pop punk.
On New Year’s Day of 2021 the band commandeered a friend’s barn (taking all necessary health precautions) to record a live album: Rebuilder: Live From 2021. It’s a defiant rebel yell against the quasi-vegetable status that many people attained during the pandemic (how many episodes of Netflix can I binge in a day?) while frontline workers risked their necks to keep the shelves stocked and sick cared for. It’s a celebration of a creative instinct that endures through the worst human catastrophe. It’s just another day in the life of pop punkery.
Our highlighted track “Roadrunner” shouts out icy Boston, the pleasures of local radio, and rocks a gnarly chorus. Not to be denied.
