Posthuman: “Return to Future”
“Return to Future” off Echo Almaz East by Posthuman.
Return to future? Did we ever leave? The existential situation of being human is being constantly flung into the uncertainty of what is to come, harried along by the past that haunts us since birth. But if it’s good enough for Michael J. Fox – once, twice, three times over – then it’s good enough for us.
Our highlighted track “Return to Future” sports a spartan industrial air that is minimalist enough to sound soothing to the ears. In contrast to denser industrial tracks by other artists, which sound like a bag of hammer dropped down a fire escape, Posthuman keeps it light and lithe. The skittering synth tropes in the middle background as a sense of drama to propel the track to its ambiguous conclusion.
