Ovation

The Boston-based Kal Marks sports a garage rock aesthetic and they will occasionally pummel you with noise for the sake of noise. But don’t be fooled, they’re not your everyday skronk posse. The musicianship, experimentation, and adventurous sonic palette set them apart. All of the above are apparent in “Ovation.” The intensity of the track leans more toward the heavy rock of Let The Shit House Burn Down than the softer tones of Lite. You’ll have to wait and hear what the rest of their new album My Name Is Hell sounds like, due to release at the beginning of August. Catch them on tour all over the USA in the summer/fall, including at Nice, a Fest in Somerville at the end of July.
