High On Yourself

Shades of Alanis Morissette in Boston’s oldsoul. Of course, it’s the voice of lead vocalist Jess Hall that sparks the initial comparison. But on further examination of our highlighted track “High On Yourself” you can also point to the way the entire song is written to serve up that voice on a silver platter.

A quiet intro to lure you in and set the scene.

A brief drum flourish.

– pause –

Then >>BANG<< the lyrical hook explodes and sends you downriver on the white rapids refrain.

Rinse, wash, repeat. There’s not much more to the song, but how much more do you need or want in a single? Extra points for the NEK shout out on “Safety Net,” the b-side to their recent 7-inch.

Stream, share, buy to your heart’s content.
