Gold Lines
Chicago’s Panda Riot specializes in high contrast dreamgaze, juxtaposing creamy vocals with crusty guitar distortion. The cultural point of reference is 90s alt pop and Infinity Maps doesn’t rewrite the book for the band, but it does give them the opportunity to further refine their astral vision.
Have a listen to “Gold Lines” — clearly demarcated verse/chorus structure is fudged for a looser, jammier quality. The lyrics achieve the pop peak of transcendence through repetition, skating along the guitar surf like a piping plover on the prowl.
