Finally Reloaded in Somerville

Mayestar

Finally Reloaded Fest arrived at Boynton Yards on Saturday, September 10. The all-day music, comedy, and culture happening boasted a lineup longer than the Mississippi River.

The event was a collaboration between Boston Got Next and ONCE, sponsored by SparkFM. Artists young and old took the stage to sing, rap, dance, tell jokes, and ignite the crowd of fans, families, and friends that gathered to enjoy the entertainment and to soak in the positive vibes.

The little dog

The ubiquitous DJ WhySham was the major organizer behind the scenes. And, of course, no DJ WhySham show would be complete without her little dog running around the place.

The action started early and the acts kept a fast and furious rotation up on stage.

Hump Day News caught Yelena delivering smooth Latin-flavored R&B grooves.

A pair of comedians, including Demetrius “Big D” Hullum, broke up the early and late musical sets. Big D had a few thoughts to share about beat-up old leather wallets – no spoilers.

A standout artist of the day was rapper SeeFour (formerly known as Spirit?) who tore up the stage. The energy was intense, and he left everything on the stage, including his shirt.

A flurry of artists kept the crowds’ heads on a swivel. Pipedreams, Asia Vu, Fanta Vybz, GunnzHAF. Mayestar was another standout performer, delivering a show stopping a capella freestyle as night fell.

Cakeswagg showed up with the full band and laid down some lyrical hooks while the keys player went nuts on the ivory.

Chizz Capo was followed by Brandie Blaze, who ceded the spotlight to some powerful spoken word interludes.

Red Shaydez closed out the festival in style. Shout out to the drone camera capturing her set, with backing band and dancers out front. Where’s that footage?
