fell 4 the trap
Written By Michael Gutierrez
“fell 4 the trap”? What is this? Some Burlington trap? Not quite. Watercoat’s beatscape is a little closer to Folk Implosion than Chief Keef, but there’s a posse-rap flavor that reminds you of Wu Tang crowding their entire Clan onstage at once to take turns letting it rip over the DJ.
Whatever it is, it’s working. Shades of Modest Mouse. Shades of Mellow Gold in the lead-off track with the fuzzbucket guitar and drum machine going wild. It’s Vermont gold.
Take a listen through the whole album because the lead-off is not a one-off. Some tracks hit more than others, so gather up the ones you like and put them on your next banger mix.
