Brazil

You could be fairly forgiven for buying Felipe Gordon’s LP Onomatopeya on the basis of gorgeous gatefold design alone. Sweet baby blues & pinks juxtaposed with handsome black & white photography.

But hey, there’s music too! The Bogotá-based electronic musician has developed a following worldwide, not least in the UK, home to his label Shall Not Fade. Expect meditative house with acid jazz overtones and funk twists. It’s a soundtrack that keeps its cool for dusk til dawn adventures.

Our highlighted track “Brazil” feels like a few samples from the musical tradition of Colombia’s neighbor were run through the hip hop blender. Only 1:39 long, it’s a nice aperitif to sip before the meal arrives.

Stream, share, buy to your heart’s content.
