The project has evolved in that time, from an early lo-fi ethos (available again as The Death of Speedy Ortiz & Cop Kicker …Forever) to the more polished sound enjoyed through collaborations with an assortment of blue chip indie rock producers.

The ability to extract essential pop moments from sometimes surprising chord changes, textures, and time changes is signature Speedy Ortiz. You never feel like you are being condescended to as a music fan, nor does the songwriting depart too far from the purity of pop form.
