Experimental sound artist Claire Rousay can lean steeper into the found sound aesthetic, but on our highlighted track “a kind of promise” it’s a more the contemporary classical minimalist vibe. No clacking typewriters, chirping birds, or drawerfull of cutlery tumbling down a staircase. Just a solo, somber cello sawing away and a few analog tape squeals to leaven the musical bread.
