Boston’s Jean Paul Jean Paul brings the anthemic party rock. The live JPJP experience has a kind of raucous E Street Band energy and the music sports shades of Heavy Times in their punk modality. But our highlighted track “Whip City” leans into its pop instinct with a hummable, maybe screamable, refrain that feels like a throwback to rhythm n blues jammers of ‘50s and ‘60s rock radio. Is the tagline celebrating car culture or BDSM? We may never know.
