Circus Battalion: “Destroy This Place”

You heard the Sound Museum was closing, right? It was a recording and practice space for countless Boston musicians. ‘Wiped out by biotech’ in the words of one.

The slow motion car crash of gentrification has been t-boning working class neighborhoods in Boston since the second half of the 20th century. For a long time Allston Ferret City had been spared, judged too out of the way and weird for real estate investment. But the speculative real estate market is too hot for the ultra wealthy to ignore. And the new landlords want wealthier tenants, leaving Boston’s music scene out in the cold.

In the proud tradition of protest punk, Circus Battalion chime in with “Destroy This Place” to sound the alarm.
