Andrew Stern: “Nice Work If You Can Get It”
The six-string fusionnaire tackles a show tune. You know, the kind where you wave your palms at the camera while wearing a seersucker suit and a shit-eating grin? Andrew Stern never met a quality tune, or band, he didn’t want to try on for size. “Nice Work If You Can Get It” by Ira Gershwin is a quality tune. The guitarist soft plays the intro before ramping up the track with a bluesy flavor here and a folky flavor there, opening up the Americana lunch pail on the way to the breakroom. Off the full-length Lonely Hunter, out now. Cambridge Day has the story on the record release show.
